In our scene four people will be shot in our scene by a sniper we want to make it seem as realistic as possible. Although the first two shots that are fired we would be seen from a distance the second two would have to seem more realistic as one is when a business man is running through a corridor when he would then be shot and also we are having a close up of the man being shot as soon as he opens the door.
These would have to be done realisticly for the scene to work. We need to have capable actors who are able to go to sudden movements and would fall to the floor quickly we would then have to add the special effects of the fake blood.

we have been using our group chat to think up new ideas to help new ideas progress and also we used it to share the photos that we have used for our story board so that we were all able to put them up onto the blogs.

Weapon Training


 


As our entire Thriller Idea is based on the mass shooting of business men, undertaken by a female character, we need to train her to make the shooting more realistic. As visual training with weaponry is much easier to understand and take in then a manual, we decided to include a short video showing how to shoot a Sniper Rifle (our chosen weapon of choice) in a long range. We chose a sniper rifle as our weapon as it shows that the character knows what she is doing as it isn't just a normal gun that is left lying round. A sniper rifle is used by exceptionally well trained men and women to kill others as it is a deadly weapon. So therefore fits perfectly within our thriller.

The defonition of story boarding is "a graphic organizer in the form of illustrations or images displayed in sequence for the purpose of pre-visualizing a motion picture, animation, motion graphic or interactive media sequence." 


This is used in all parts of the filming industry and mostly it is used in cartoons. They are usefull to all films and important factors in the pre proction. It is usefull when making the film as when they come to film certain scenes they know what they need to film and what shots will need to be filmed. The story boards also mean that the producers of the films are able to see what could be added to the scene and what could make it better but so they can also find out if shots would also need to be removed from the scene so that the scene can work or to improve the scene.


As you can see the images in the storyboards can exit the frame to emphasise to the audience any camera movements or effects used i the film. There are also many different arrows and directions present, showing both movement of characters, and the camera in the scene.

My group and I have now progressed further with our story boarding which has allowed us to see more clearly what our scence is going to be like. In our group Ellie was the only person in the group who we thought could draw well enough for our story board so she was the person who drew them. Whilst this was happening myself and Xavier were focusing on many different aspects of the scene. Firstly we had to look into all of the costume and the setting that we would do our scene in. We Also had to descripe all of the pictures that Ellie had drawn for the stoy board. So we would describe the actions that would occure in the scene and the camera, sound and editing that we would use in the scene.

For the costume we would need for our main character we decided that she would be wearing all black as she would want hard to see so that she wouldn't be seen when she is approaching the place that she is going to shoot the person. We would also do it like this to make the woman seem professional and so it doesn't seem like she isn't a proffesional.

In our group we decided that we needed a few props to make the scene work. These included smaller and also bigger props.

• apple juice for the drinks
• duffle bag
• chairs and desks
• pictures on the walls
• handgun in a draw
• large amounts of money in the draw

When we were casting our thriller opening sequence we needed five characters. We decided that we would be able to gain all of our characters from school from using the teachers and the students. We also decided to make sure to have backups for the roles that were being played.

The main character was the person we spend most time on trying to cast. We only had three names of the people that we would be able to cast with so we would have one as the main character and also have one for a backup. My group and I decided that we should cast fran as the main character as she suited the age that we wanted for our piece and also the right sort of character that we needed for this scene. For our backup for this character we thought that we would be able to use Beth as she also suits the role well. In the idustry Our group would probable cast someone like Scarlet Johansson as she suits the character very well as a mum who can also go and assassinate people.

We also had to cast four men who looked like business men in our scene. All of these men we thought needed to look older and also needed to look important but also look slightly suspicious. We casted mostly teachers for these roles in this scene as they are mostly the ones who look old enough to suit the role. Our first choice of characters for this scene was Mike, Adam, Stephen and Miles although Miles is also a student we thought that he would look old enough to suit the part. We also named a few people for the backups. We decided that Ted would be a good choice and if he was here we would use him as he suits the character well. However he is a backup as he may not be able to make it to the shoot. We also casted Josh and Moses as the other two backups as we thought that they looked old enough to play the characters. If we could choose a group of actors to play these parts we wouldn't need any majour actors as these are characters that are are killed at the very start and would have very little or no effect on the rest of the film.

Getting to these locations wont be difficult as we will just use the busses that we have at school to take us to these locations as they are not far from school and they are also part of the school. the busses should be able to take both the equipment and also the actors that we need for the project.

we also have the permission that we need for these locations as they are part of the school so we can use them. It also means that we are able to use the rifle outside in these areas as they private grounds so we do not need the permission of the police to take a fake gun out into public.

Now that we have chosen our idea we decided to draw a story board so we know what shots we will need for when we come to film out opening sequence. This story board will also allow us to see what works well in the scene and what we will need to cut out or add so that the scene makes more sense.
