This was a photo that a friend took of me and three
other friends. We were trying to make it look like a country pop band with both
the technical and semiotic conventions. We used to camera angle to get all of
us there as a group and we also used certain clothing such as the wax jacket
and chinos and the casual shirt.
Here we also tried to stick to conventions of
country and pop using the sunset rather than the people again to show that they
are linked with nature and also shows the kind of music that they make as the
country convention this is often based in the outdoors.
I feel I was successfully able to create Dyers star
image in this video. One of the ways that I was able to do this was through the
use of the main cover photo where I used the youthfulness of my friends in the
photo but also showing them at a distance so that they are present but also not
too personal and that they can’t see them very well creating a demand for them.
unfortunately, I was unable to have the time to get
the props that I wanted to show the natural talent such as a guitar and also
drum sticks.
I also wanted to make the photo for the front cover
to seem relatable to the audience so that they are able to connect further with
the characters.
