Toy Story 2
The plot
Woody is preparing to go to cowboy camp with Andy when suddenly his arm is ripped meaning that he can't go to the camp with Andy. The next day woody discovers Wheezy hiding in the book shelf. When he is found by Andy's mum and put up for sale in the yard sale. Woody then heroically tries to rescue Wheezy but is unfortunately made to keep up the toy act and to be stolen by a greedy toy collector. When Woody is kidnapped and is about to be sold to be a museum piece Buzz and the rest have to go out to save him before its too late.
Buzz and the others must go on daring adventures and great feats to rescue woody such as crossing the road and breaking into the toy collectors apartment. But getting Woody to leave is proving more difficult as he is persuaded by Jessie and Stinky Pete to stay and be immortal in the museum. Woody is eventually bought back by Buzz as he reminds him of what the true purpose of toys are and he is happily reunited back with Andy and also they all come back with Jessie and Bullseye.
My favourite character has to be to be Buzz as as hard as he tries to be heroic he doesn't often succeed such as in his attempt to rescue Woody early on where he is defeated by the car boot. However he is also a very likeable character as he is always courageous and willing to help out his friends.
The characters in the film include Woody, Buzz (voices of Tom Hanks and Tim Allen) and the rest of the crew including slinky, Hamm and the Potato heads. However there are also new members in the film such as Jessie and Bullseye. The main problem in this film comes from Zurg and Stinky Pete who try to stop woody from getting back to Andy and when Zurg and Buzz finally meet Zurg attempt to kill Buzz but Buzz then finds out to everyones surprise that Zurg is Buzz's father.
I find the film easily relatable to as it reminds me of the toys that I used to use when i was a young child. I think this connection can easily be made through almost all people that have seen the movie.
The movie only had a $30 million budget to spend on the film but although there was only a limited budget it still creates a great film for everyone. However other sources also show that the film cost more around the price of $90 million.
Toy story two was directed by John Lasseter and co directed by Lee Unkrich and Ash Brannon. It has a fun genre and is targeting mostly children but is easily relatable to all about there childhood toys so the film is enjoyed by all.
The film was released in 1999 and was instantly a huge hit and watched keenly by everyone after the success of the first one. the film made over an estimated $484 million world wide making it get to within the top 50 highest earning animated films ever made.
