Camera Workshop One

The Black Magic Ursa mini 4k camera is the camera that we used in our first introduction to cameras and is also the camera that we will use for the next year.

We started by setting up the tripod which didn’t take too long. We learned about the locks that keep them in place and the heights that we should use for these shots. We also learned that we need to keep the spirit level in the right place at the start to ensure that the camera wouldn’t fall of when we mounted it.

When handling the camera we used the yours and mine rule to ensure that no one would drop the camera. This would be useful to us especially when we are on a busy set to make sure that we don’t damage the cameras

To place the camera onto the tripod there were two main things that we had to remember firstly you would have to press the button on the side of the camera to be able to slide the camera onto the tracks that hold it in place. Once in place you would have to tighten the camera on to ensure it wouldn’t fall off.

Finally we went on to learn about the exposure, ISO,SA and WB of theses cameras. To adjust the exposure you would use the little blue slide on the side of the camera. You would have to also be careful not to accidently take off the lens as it was right next to the exposure.

The best ISO for this camera was 400, SA was 180 and finally WB is outside 5600 and 3000
